What if you don't know or are unsure of your purpose??

How can we find our purpose?...I think that yielding and listening for God's guidance is a way. But, some aren't there just yet. Any thoughts, or shares on how your purpose became clear to you?? I feel like this would help many people who are still searching for there purpose while visiting here on Earth :-)

As I spend time in quiet communion with God, I ask what He wants me to do for Him on this day. It is the "Being Still" that helps me find my purpose for that day. Susan

Thanks for sharing Susan! I've been following something my Pastor talked about when I pray and it includes that "stillness." There are 4 steps:

P-Praise Him
R-Repent
A-Ask for yourself and for others
Y-YIELD and listen for Him

The yielding part is the most difficult for me because I get in "my head" too much, but I am working on it everyday and definitely getting better with it!

I DO know what my purpose in life is. But when I didn't know I found myself dabbling in tons of things trying to uncover, unlock and find who and what I was to be!

For me it's ALWAYS been there and I'd venture to say that for most its the same. It's ALWAYS been there. We or I, always had my purpose right there on the surface. But I wanted my purpose to be something more, some thing GREATER so I ran from it. I ignored all it's prompting and clues. And now I've come to terms with it and am sitting right smack in the middle of it. AND ITS AMAZING!!!!!!!

So if you don't know what your purpose is I'd say, from my experience to look around you! You're already GREAT at it! Just do it.

eg--I never wanted to work with children. I thought it was a thankless, underpaid and glamour-LESS place to be!! My dad is an educator as well of about half of my extended family. I even went back and found out that my great grandfather was the most respected and prestigious professor in all of Monterrey Mexico. In the little town in which he was born there is a large statue of him in the center of town. UMMMMMMmmmm. . . so if I like being around kids, I'm extremely animated, I love to teach and see children grow into their own purpose and know that I'm a great story teller.....then don't cha think that my purpose has already been interwoven into my history and lineage? YES!! And so now I write children's books. And to think that I once ran from that!

My purpose became clear to me when I realized that everyone in my life had let me down except God. Through many, many lows He was always the one who kept me going. Of course, he was always there during the highs as well, but I never really took the time to notice. Now I do know that He is with me everyday, no matter what, and I am grateful for that.
